Theresa A. "Terry" Gassett (O'Connor) of Rumney, formally from Cape Cod (MA) lost her battle with cancer on April 2, 2018 at the young age of 60. Terry was born on November 23, 1957 and was daughter of the late William and Lorraine (Thompkins) Murphy. Terry spent her childhood in W. Bridgewater MA, later moving to Cape Cod. She attended W. Bridgewater High School, where she was a member of the majorettes and a graduate of the class of 1975. Terry went on to continue her education at Bridgewater State college with a focus in business management. Shortly after starting a family and settling on the cape, Terry fulfilled her passion to work with children by starting an in-home daycare, which she owned and operated for many years. Terry loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved the beach and soaking up the sun. Often, you could find her dancing barefoot to her favorite music, she especially loved family dance parties in the living room. Terry will be greatly missed by her daughter Jillian Hunt and her husband Nathaniel of Sandwich MA, son William Gassett Jr., of Goldsboro NC, daughter Kristie Gassett of Chelmsford MA, stepdaughters Brenda Horgan of Wareham, MA, Linda Horgan and Leigh Ann Horgan both of Chesterfield VA. Her grandchildren Nathaniel Hunt Jr., Michael Brown Jr., Hunter Brown, Lila Hunt, Ezra Barboza, Nariah Conerly, Todd Barboza, Jaeleigh Miles, Kennedy Mooney, and Angel Berrian. She will also be missed by her sister Patricia Murphy and her children Tia, Shaunna, Joseph and Devon, sister Kathleen Piper, brothers Michael O'Connor, Sean O'Connor, Daniel O'Connor, Paul O'Connor and James Murphy; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
