Ruth Louise (Hayes) Jacques, 89 died at her home on March 3, 2025 with her family at her side.   She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on September 14, 1935, the daughter of Reverend William and Ruth( Kellogg) Hayes.  

Ruth spent her early years in Attleboro, Ma. and at a young age, moved to Laconia with her family.  She was a graduate of Laconia High School and attended a missionary school at Nyack College, New York. In August of 1956, she was married to Eugene Jacques. Together with her husband, Ruth operated Margene Poultry. Ruth was also employed as a bookkeeper and owned and operated The Cone and Candle Inn on Webster Lake in Franklin, N.H.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling, gourmet cooking, motorcycle rides, knitting, counted cross stitch and reading! She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Plymouth.  

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, her husband Eugene Jacques, her daughter Amie Jacques, Grandson Nicholas Swett, her brothers William and Raymond Hayes.

She is survived by her daughters, Esther Gauthier of Northfield and Denise Swett of Laconia, her sons, Daniel Jacques of Pembroke and Mark Jacques of Gilmanton Iron Works, her brothers Russell Hayes of Rhode Island, Joel Hayes of Arizona, sister Margaret Curtis of Rhode Island, and sister-in-law Joyce Hayes of North Carolina, nine grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
