Patrick Abear Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, and Papa, Patrick Abear, 61, of Ashland NH, on April 9, 2026.

Patrick was born on September 20, 1964, in Plymouth, New Hampshire, to Carleton Abear and Patricia (Savage) Abear.

Patrick was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was a busy man with many talents and had a remarkable ability to “fix anything.”

He graduated from Ashland High School in 1983 and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy from January 4, 1984, to November 14, 1986, aboard the USS Sterett (CG-31). He was honorably medically discharged. Following his military service, Patrick worked for Pike Industries and, for the past 33 years, was employed by Ossipee Mountain Electronics in Moultonborough.

Patrick is survived by his best friend and soulmate, Anne (King), whom he married on July 18, 1992, and their three sons: Jeff King (Monica), Jon Abear (Samantha), and Matt Abear (Moselle).  He was a proud Papa to his cherished grandchildren: Riley, Liam, Lexi, and Henry Abear. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Babe.He is also survived by his sister, Susan (David) Paquette; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Phil (Lois) King and Elaine (Karl) Hanley; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Patrick was predeceased by his parents, Carleton and Patricia Abear, and his brother, David.

Family and friends are invited to join us for visiting hours on Saturday April 18,2026 at the Dupuis Funeral Home 11 Hill Avenue in Ashland from  2pm-4pm.  A celebration of life will be held following visiting hours, at the American Legion Dupuis Cross Post 15 in Ashland from 5pm-7pm.

A Graveside service will be held on June 7, 2026 at 2pm at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rt 175, Thornton, New Hampshire.
