Matthew Paul Drake 36, of New Hampton NH was with his family for Christmas when he was suddenly called home to be with Jesus on December 25, 2023.

Matthew was born in Laconia NH on June 25, 1987. He is the son of Michael and Patrica Drake. He is survived by his parents, his sister Jessica, her husband Michael and their children Nicholas and Benjamin. His brother Michael, his partner Shawna and their children Lyndsie, Mikenzie, and Eben. His brother Thomas. His brother Joshua and his son Owen. His sister Hannah, her fiancé Matthew and their children Drake and Zoey. His grandparents Melvin and Brenda Torsey and Dorothy Torsey and Al Curry. Along with many more Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

Matt attended school at Laconia Christian through 5th grade then finished his years at Newfound Regional High School where he graduated with honors. Matt joined the Marine Corps at the age of 19. He was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Matt was awarded the Marine Corp Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Afghanistan Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Presidential Unit Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, NATO ISAF Medal, Afghanistan Certificate of Appreciate, Rifle Expert Badge (2nd AWD). He was honorably discharge as a Cpl. After the Marines Matt went into all facets of construction.

Matt was always the life of the party with a smile on his face which impacted the world greatly. He enjoyed spending all his time outside as a little boy,, and as he grew he enjoyed football, hunting, fishing and motocross. He was great at everything he put his mind to and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Calling hours will be be held at Dupuis Funeral Home 11 Hill Avenue in Ashland on Sunday December 31, 2023, from 2-5 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 3, 2024, at 11am at the New Hampton Community Church on Main Street in New Hampton.
