Marcia Covell
Marcia Covell Obituary
Marcia Covell, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on February 4, 2026.
Marcia was the beloved wife of Robert A. Covell. She is survived by her son Scott, daughter Sherri, and her cherished grandson Cougar. She is also survived by her sister June Lessard, and six nieces and nephews: David, Darlene, Diane, Donna, Daniel, and Darcy.
She was born to George and Alice Bowe and grew up in Haverhill, Massachusetts, where family, faith, and service to others were central to daily life. George and Alice were active in their local church and the Haverhill community, setting an example of commitment and responsibility that shaped the family.
Alice Bowe, in particular, was a strong role model—coming of age in the aftermath of the Industrial Revolution—whose work ethic, independence, and enterprising spirit left a lasting imprint. These qualities were passed directly to Marcia and became the foundation of her unwavering standards, personal discipline, and dedication to doing things well and doing them right.
Marcia raised her family in Arlington, Massachusetts, built her adult life in Fort Worth, Texas, where she lived and worked for many years before retiring to Ashland, New Hampshire—a place she truly loved and where she became a meaningful part of the local community.
Her love for New Hampshire ran deep. Marcia treasured summers in the Lakes Region, especially time spent on Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Squam. She found great joy in being on the water and loved boating on her Chris-Craft, a passion she passed on to her family along with a deep appreciation for the beauty, rhythm, and traditions of the region.
A dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse, Marcia excelled at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, working in both the Emergency Room and Operating Room. She later transitioned into case management, where she continued to advocate for patients by drawing on her deep clinical knowledge. Prior to retirement, she served as a Certified Case Manager with Cigna, helping patients navigate complex medical situations with clarity and compassion.
Faith was an important part of Marcia’s life. She served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister at her local church, offering care and comfort to others with the same humility and devotion that defined her work and family life.
Above all else, Marcia was a mother and grandmother who showed up and supported her children’s dreams—consistently and wholeheartedly. She was a proud hockey mom, supporting her children and the teams they played on across the United States, Canada, and internationally, and later became an enthusiastic supporter of her grandson’s baseball and football pursuits. Her presence was constant, her encouragement unwavering.
Marcia will be remembered for her strength, integrity, and quiet leadership. Her legacy lives on through her family, her patients, her faith, community, and the many lives she touched, —especially in the places and traditions she loved and shared so generously.
