Mary Ann Davis, 105, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the home of herson, Robert Davis, and his wife, Sharon. She was known as "Ann". She was born on July 29, 1909, in Drummamether, Armagh County, Northern Ireland, the daughter of George Scanlon and Mary Ann (Littlewood) Scanlon. Ann and her sister, Lill, left Ireland around 1925 to go to North America to build a new life. They arrived in Canada and worked their way to San Clemente, California to stay with their father's sister until they were able to find work. She had a very challenging, but interesting life having raised five of her six sons by herself moving many times until she and her sons moved to Holderness, NH in 1954. Her last move was to Campton, NH 39 years ago to make her home with her son, Bob, and his wife, Sharon. She loved to garden and loved to visit with anyone who had at least an hour to spare! She had a great sense of humor especially in the later years of her life. She loved her family and constantly wanted to know if everyone was alright. Ann is survived by four sons. Leslie Coaton of Townsville, Australia; Robert and Donald Davis of Campton, NH and Charles Clarence Davis, Jr. of Charlestown, S.C. She was predeceased by her sons William Thomas Davis and Karl F. Davis. Ann is also survived by many grandchildren, including Thomas and Timothy Davis; Angela Brown, Laura Lamson, Michael and Brian Davis and 9 grandchildren who reside in Ireland. She also leaves many greatgrandchildren and many great-greatgrandchildren. There will be a graveside service on July 18, 2015 at 11:00 am at Riverside Cemetery, Fairgrounds Road in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Notes of remembrance may be sent to 361 Perch Pond Road, Campton, NH 03223. The notes will be included as part of the celebration of her life.
