Luther Haartz Obituary

   

     Luther Weston Haartz 81, a long time Thornton resident died at his home on October 24, 2021, surrounded by loved ones following a brief illness. He was born in Cohasset, Massachusetts on November 28, 1939. He was the son of Louis O and Winnifred (Elliott) Haartz.

    Luther spent his early years in Scituate Massachusetts and relocated to New Hampshire with his family in the 70’s. He was the proprietor of Luther Haartz Builders. He developed Weston Woods in Campton. He built many condominiums and homes in Waterville Valley. He also had building projects in Revere and Newburyport Massachusetts. 

   Luther enjoyed spending his time with family and longtime friends. He had a zest for life and making people laugh. “No one could tell a joke like Luther” He also enjoyed his car collection, deep sea fishing and his winters in warmer weather. 

    He was predeceased by his parents and his son Joel Haartz, and brother Elliott Haartz. He is survived by his sister Marsha Omand of Vermont, his brother Karl Haartz of Thornton, two grandchildren Weston Haartz and Juliette Haartz of Henniker, New Hampshire, and his significant other of many years Joanne Hoyt of Campton. 

    A graveside service will be held at Mad River Cemetery in Thornton on Saturday November 13, 2021, at 1 pm. Dupuis Funeral Home in Ashland is assisting the family. For more information go to Dupuisfuneralhome.com
