John B. Switzer, 83, passed away on May 20, 2024 at Littleton Hospital. He was born on March 31,1941 in Bellows Falls, VT to Hugh and Nina (Kenneson) Switzer. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1959. John enlisted in the United States Army in 1963 and served in Vietnam. He went on to work as an auto body technician for 30 years. In addition to working at Kelly’s Auto Body, he worked on classic cars at Sargent Motorworks in Fairlee VT.

John’s passion for cars was evident in everything he did. He spent countless hours restoring his Chevy Nova and his ‘63 Chevy Truck. His enthusiasm and attention to detail were evident in all aspects of his life. He was also a skilled pinstriper, creating classic looks for antique cars, and adding his unique style to more modern vehicles. In the later years of his life he enjoyed watching his granddaughters’ sporting events, especially basketball.

John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Bertha (Kelley) Switzer, and their daughter Teresa (Switzer) Merrifield, along with her husband Alan Merrifield, and granddaughters Gwenyth and Kayley. John is also survived by one sister, Dorothy (Switzer) LaLonde, her children Kevin LaPointe and Cheryl (LaPointe) Twomey and several cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 27th, from 4-6 at the Dupuis Funeral Home, 11 Hill Avenue, Ashland, NH.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 28th at 11am at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Matthew Catholic Church, 11 School St, Plymouth NH with a burial to follow. The family would like to invite guests to their home at 72 Morse Rd, Plymouth NH following the service or burial.
