It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Son, Brother and family member.
John Raymond Mayhew, 62, formerly of Plymouth, Died September 27, 2025, in Panama City, Fl. after a brief illness.
John was born, on February 3, 1963, in Plymouth, NH, he was the son of the late James Francis, Sr. and Eileen Anne (Phippard) Mayhew
John grew up in Plymouth and resided here most all his life. He was a graduate of Plymouth AREA High School, class of 1981. He also graduated from Wood Harvesting School, in Calais, ME.
John Worked for several years in the wood harvesting trade for several local loggers. He worked for many years as a truck driver for the former Persons Concrete, and then for Andrews Construction, both of Campton, NH. When John wasn’t driving in the winter months, he would always help as a dress man for Mayhew Funeral Home. He spent several years working for Top Notch Tree Service, in Campton, and Currier’s Garage, in Holderness, NH.
John enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt. John was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for those around him. Throughout his life, John touched the hearts of many. John will be remembered fondly for his sense of humor and the ability to make you laugh.
John was predeceased by his father, James, who died in 2011, and his brother David William Mayhew, who died in 2012.
John is survived by his mother, Eileen Anne (Phippard) Mayhew, formerly of Plymouth, his brothers, James F. Mayhew Jr. and Carolyn Varin, of Campton, Peter G. Mayhew and his wife Kelley J. (Gagne) Mayhew, sister, Mary A. Wheeler, of Panama City, FL. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and his dear friend Shadow Lynn Simons and her daughter, Serenity Simons of Panama City, FL.
Calling Hours will be held at the Dupuis Funeral Home, Hill Ave., Ashland, NH, on Wednesday, Oct 15th from 5pm to 8pm. A graveside service will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln, NH. on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 11am. The Rev. Fr. John Mahoney, Pastor of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lincoln, will officiate.
