Douglas Ross
Douglas Ross Obituary
Douglas Ross, 64, of Holderness, NH, passed away on Monday, November 24 in his sleep. Born on December 27, 1960 in Plymouth, NH, Doug lived a life filled with love, integrity, and quiet strength.
Doug will be remembered fondly for his kindness, his calm, steady presence, and his ability to talk to or fix, just about anyone or anything. To know him was to feel loved and supported, and his presence brought warmth, comfort and security to everyone around him.
For over 29 years, Doug taught various curriculums at Plymouth Regional High School. He was loved and admired by his students. A constant source of knowledge, advice, wisdom, leadership, and life lessons to so many who passed through Plymouth Regional. Walking around town, former students would constantly stop and say hello, and Doug always remembered them, and always made time for a quick chat. He was genuinely interested in your life, and how you were. After retiring from education, he went back to construction, working on some of the most impressive builds and renovations in the area. Outside of work, you would likely find Doug at home, on the lake working on some project, relaxing on the docks, or snoozing in the hammock, but never too busy for a conversation.
More than anything, Doug adored his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather who took immense pride in his two daughters, Felicia and Aubrey and his two granddaughters, Reagan and Jordan. His guidance, laughter, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his two daughters, Aubrey-Rose Ross of Manchester NH, Felicia Fiore (Ross), and husband Garry of Nolensville TN, his beloved granddaughters, Reagan and Jordan Fiore; his sister Helen Benton, and husband Bill of Thornton NH, and his brother, Ray Ross of Bedford NH. He is preceded by his parents Connie & Gene Ross and brother Gene Ross.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at The Common Man Inn, Fosters Hall on Sunday, December 7 at 1:00pm. Wear your best Carharts and work boots in memory of him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Plymouth Regional High School CTE Program.
Doug will be deeply missed, remembered always, and loved forever.
