Donald W. Bump 86, died suddenly at his home on January 26, 2016. Born at home in Ashland on March 28, 1929 he was the son of Robert A. Whittier and Ruth Bump. Don was raised in Ashland attending Ashland schools and was an Ashland High School graduate. Don went on to Plymouth Teacher's College earning a B.ED in 1951, and a M. Ed in 1962. He went on to Rutgers University where he earned a Masters in Library Science in 1965. Over the years he taught school in Dublin, NH. Derry, NH. Plymouth, NH., Demarest, NJ., and was a librarian in East Orange, NJ., and at Scarsdale High School for 22 years. Don was an avid traveler having traveled across the USA and Canada many times also visiting Alaska, Yukon, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, India, many European countries including Croatia, Ireland, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and Germany. He is survived by his two sons Allen Cody of Canada, and Douglas Wheeler of Virginia, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Blair Cemetery on Blair Road in Campton, New Hampshire.
