Bettina Ann "Tina" Young Obituary

Bettina Ann “Tina” Young 63, of Meredith, passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Concord, Vt. on November 16, 1960, she was the daughter of Dale and Elizabeth [Bliss] Young.

At a young age Tina moved with her family to Ashland, NH where she attended grade school and was a graduate of Ashland High School. She spent many years working at Plymouth Manufacturing. Tina found her true calling at Moultonborough School district (SAU 45), serving lunches in the cafeteria for the past 22 years. Tina was always excited to share stories of “her kids”, many of which she saw go from kindergarten through high school graduation. Dressing up for Halloween and the other holidays was especially exciting for her. Tina labeled herself “The busy woman” and was rarely known to stay idle for very long. Along with working at the school, Tina had several other side jobs including housekeeping, pet sitting and running errands for elderly friends.

We will always remember Tina as the most selfless person, she truly had a heart of gold. Tina would never hesitate to lend a helping hand and “everyone needs a Tina” was heard often. Her sense of humor was truly unmatched and her “one liners” and sayings, such as “Love you all” will never be forgotten. She was the hardest worker you will ever meet. Tina experienced more tragic loss during her lifetime than anyone deserves, but she still maintained a joy for life. The smallest things gave her joy. Like sunflowers, walking on the beach catching hermit crabs with her great nieces and nephews, her weekly stop at the Etcetera shoppe, Friday nights at the Canoe enjoying a glass of Pino Grigio, and relaxing on her porch. Tina Spent many family vacations on Squam Lake, NH, Old Orchard Beach, ME and New Smyrna Beach, FL. These are family memories that will be cherished forever.

Tina’s close-knit family was what truly fulfilled her, she was the heart of our family. Tina had so much pride for her family and was known to share all of our accomplishments with anyone who would listen. She leaves behind her two sisters that were her best friends Sheryl O’Neil (Jeff) of Moultonborough, NH, Candice Dussault (Paul) of Manchester, NH and her three brothers, Terry Young of Vinalhaven, ME Randy Young (Wendy) of Plymouth, NH and David Young of Campton, NH. Tina is predeceased by her two brothers, Dale “Butch” Young and Melvin Young.

More than anything in her life Tina enjoyed being an Aunt and maybe even more so being a great Aunt. She was known as “Auntie Bean” and was quiet literally the second mother to all her nieces and nephews. She was very involved never missing a birthday or a holiday. She made every interaction special, remembering the smallest of details about each of them. Tina had six beloved nieces and a nephew. Sheri Coleman (Curtis) Albany, NH, Kelldah Sousa (Brian) of Dorchester, NH, Amanda Ripa (Mike) of Goffstown, NH, Stacy Jeff (Matty) of Clifton Park, NY, Lilly O’Neil (Max Goodhue) of Moultonborough, NH and Connor O’Neil of Moultonborough, NH. Ten great nieces and nephews, Caroline, Alex, Georgia, Makenzie, Cooper, Scarlett, Sophia, Emmett, Bennett and her newest great niece Stella. Tina will also be greatly missed by many cousins and friends.

A private graveside service will be held. Tina’s last request was to have a “big party” with everyone who loved her. Please join us on September 15th from 11:30 – 3:30 at The Canoe Restaurant in Center Harbor, NH to share precious memories and celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to donate in Tina Young’s name to SAU 45, PO Box 419, Moultonborough, NH 03254. All donations will go towards making sure every child gets a “treat” no matter their circumstances. Tina always encouraged everyone to “live a little” and never wanted a child to go without.  For more information go to Dupuisfuneralhome.com.
