Andrew Petrou, 81, passed away suddenly at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, New Hampshire on March 24, 2026.   He was born on August 13, 1944, the son of Jordan and Anna (Plauska) Petrou.

He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and later moved to Sparta, NJ when he was in high school.  He was a graduate of Montclair State with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Education.

Andrew was very active in the Community as a business owner, Alpine Paint Center and as a volunteer firefighter with the Sparta TWP Fire Department where he served as Chief in 1980 and as Chaplin for many years.

After living on Cape Cod, he and his wife Ann moved to Plymouth, New Hampshire.   Andrew loved his model railroad and his Ford Mustangs.

Andrew is survived by his wife Ann, his son Stephen and daughter-in-law Emily, all of New Hampshire.   He is also survived by his brother Edward Petrou and his sister Irene Hanley.

A graveside service will be held in the Trinity Cemetery in Holderness in the Spring.
